Amazing how we work everyday as small business owners but do we really take time to see what works and what doesn’t? In order to start a business, you have to have a product or service that you offer, or perhaps several. Thus, we are mavens for what we offer. Do we sell our products efficiently? Do we connect and network enough to get the proper exposure so more people know about our products and services.
There is scientific evidence and perhaps even anecdotal information that can tell us what works and what doesn’t. As the owner and perhaps most invested person of your business, however, I can say that sometimes, it really is just as simple as following what works and going with that!
As an example, we went to Business school for a graduate degree to learn what best practices are for running your own small business. this was (and perhaps I am dating myself) before the era of the Internet. So……how do you reinvent yourself so you have an online presence? How do you effectively use social media? How do you integrate your old fashioned networking opportunities with your newer, technology-based offerings?
Simple……. follow what works and going with that! Drop what doesn’t work. Have enough time in your day to observe what is happening.
